The customized cashmere line initially refused to embroider “Am Yisrael Chai” on to a sweater even though they have done so in the past and instead sent an email to the client stating: “in light of the painful strife unfolding across the Levant, we have collectively decided to stitch only messages of peace and coexistence.”

The client escalated the response and eventually received an answer from owner Rachelle Hruska who called the order denial a “mistake.” Hruska explained that certain words and anything needing translation are flagged for review and that the customer service rep should not have sent the message as a response. She then offered the client the sweater for free, an offer that was rejected.
